Privacy notice

Short and plain: what we store, why, and how to get rid of it.

Alpha invitation requests

When you request an invite we store your name or nickname, email address, and the optional details you give (Discord name, region, preferred mode, chat language, PD2 experience, message), plus the time of the request. We use them only to pick alpha testers, to contact you about your invitation, and to start your chat in your language. A copy of each request is emailed to the Project Lage team through our mail provider, Resend.

We keep a request until the alpha is over or until you ask us to delete it. We never sell or share it, and we don't send newsletters.

Ladder accounts

A ladder account stores your username, a salted hash of your password, and your ladder character files with the last 20 versions of each. Character names, classes, levels and your username appear on the public leaderboard.

Badge purchases

Badge passes, Founder and Rune Wall badges are paid through PayPal or with USDT. We keep the order (which account, which badge, the amount and when it was paid) and PayPal's transaction number, never card or PayPal account details. PayPal's own privacy notice covers what PayPal does. A USDT payment is public on the Tron blockchain like every crypto transfer; we only note which transfer paid which order.

A rune you buy is carved on the public Rune Wall with your account name and its number; that is part of what you buy, and we show nothing else about you there.

If you link your Patreon to your account, Patreon tells us your Patreon user number and which level you support, and later tells us when that level changes or ends. We keep only that number and the level, never your Patreon name, email or payment details. You can unlink it in the Support section at any time. Your name shows on the supporter list or in the launcher's credits only if you tick those boxes yourself.

Server logs and cookies

The web server keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security. To stop spam, the sign-up form counts recent requests per connection using a one-way hash that is kept in memory only. This site sets no cookies and uses no trackers or analytics.

For ladder accounts we store the account name, a salted password hash, your characters and server saves, and the IP address you last signed in from. The address is used only to enforce bans on cheaters and is replaced at each sign-in.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time. Write to [email protected] from the address you signed up with.
